Is Neighborhood Nature an Ecological Precursor of Parenting Practices, Infant-Parent Bonding, and Infant Socioemotional Function?

چکیده

Nurturing relationships are crucial for adaptive child development. The objectives of the study were to investigate whether nature availability was associated with early nurturing parenting practices, mother-infant bonding, and infant socioemotional function. Data from Australian Temperament Project ( n = 809 infants 515 parents residing in Victoria, Australia) linked cross-sectionally residential greenness (i.e., Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). There no observable associations between within a 1,600 m network radius or findings largely corroborated by sensitivity analyses NDVI 100, 250, 500, 1,000 distance park). Shorter distances park less hostile parenting. More (1,000 m) stronger father-infant bonding more amongst most stressed exploratory analyses. Residential might be socioecological precursor bonding.

Parenting and infant sleep.

Infant sleep undergoes dramatic evolution during the first year of life. This process is driven by underlying biological forces but is highly dependent on environmental cues including parental influences. In this review the links between infant sleep and parental behaviors, cognitions, emotions and relationships as well as psychopathology are examined within the context of a transactional model...

Prematurity, immune function and infant feeding practices.

Recently, there has been much interest in the literature in the role of early nutrition and the health of the individual in adulthood. A majority of infants in the UK are born full term, while preterm infants account for 4-6% of the total births. Milk feeding practices are divided into three groups: breast, combination (breast-fed with formula as 'top-up') and bottle (formula). In studies condu...

Problematic parent-infant relationships in two-parent families: prevalence and risk factors in a Brazilian neighborhood.

INTRODUCTION Although the quality of parent-child relationships is known to be associated with the offspring's mental health, little is known about the prevalence of problematic relationships in this scenario. This cross-sectional study aims to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of different types of early parent-infant relationships in a Brazilian population group. METHODS During 1 ...

Parent - Infant Interaction

The mother-infant relationship consists of interaction sequences, each of which is in some measure unique. We must therefore study pooled data from interactions of the same ‘type’ occurring within a limited time period. Changes in the relationship must be assessed by comparing data from different time periods. To understand the dynamics of the interaction, it is essential to formulate sharply t...
